"Textbook" for the Course

If you look in the computer section of any bookstore, you will find dozens of books about the Internet and World Wide Web. Most of them cost between $35-$60 and may run as many as 800 pages in length! While they certainly cover the details, such books are just not practical for this class. As rapidly as things change on the net, these books do not remain current for long. In fact your best source of information is actually available on-line as you will soon see!

But, you will not have access to the Internet all the time and it is still nice to be able to sit in a comfortable chair and read at your leisure. So, as our "textbook" for this course, we are going to use the PC Novice Guide to Netscape. This publication contains all the basic information you will need to know about how to use Netscape. Most reading assignments for the class will come from this guide. If you are officially registered for this class, I will provide you with a copy of this publication as long as my supplies last. To purchase your own copy, please contact Smart Computing.
