From Jim Carmody Feb 16 2000
It's been awhile since I Linked into Buzz Chamber's site. What a
fantastic surprise to find your Class of '62 page linked in to his!!
Lot's of great photos and, of course, memories.
They say as we get older, we spend more time in the past. With your hard work
and marvelous web site for our class, it's easier than ever to "return to
the days of yesteryear"!!
I'm like so many others when I see the pictures after all these
years---"Yep, there's ol' what's her name or what's his name---wonder what
ever happened to them?"
Hopefully one of these years I'll make one of those reunions and then I can swap
stories and tell tales with everyone in person.
Keep up the page, and when you're working hard late at night struggling over
some "graphics trick" that just won't work right, think of all the joy
you're bringing to all of us "1944 babies".
Go Raiders!!!

P.S. Since I was born in Thomasville, Ga, how are things in the Rose City??
From Leon Blackwell Feb 17 2001
Hello All,
I moved to Ramstein in July of '61, attending K-Town my last year of High School
. . . didn't really get to know a lot of the "old timers" that had
been there awhile. I hung around with Mike Gillespie, who was new that year
also. After graduating, I fooled around for three semesters at the University of
Maryland, Munich, before returning to the states in '64. Got drafted in '65,
joined USAF, spent a year at Keesler learning electronics and returned to
Germany for the rest of the 60's. Returned to the states in '69 and ended up in
Rapid City SD working for Control Data Corp. as a technician. I did this for 5
years (married in '71) before returning to college at the South Dakota School of
Mines, earning my BSEE. Moved to Minneapolis in '85 as a design engineer, moved
to Champaign IL in '89, back to Minneapolis in '92. At this time, we are living
in Chanhassen MN, but we'll be moving to a new job in Sioux Falls SD this
spring.
Whew! That was a lot of work! I suppose you'll have to edit this substantially.
A lot of the names registered for the class of '62 look familiar . . . looking
forward to renewing old acquaintanceships.
Drop me a line or 2 if you have time.

On March 8th 2001 Cindy gave birth to a strong and healthy baby girl. "Riva is 8 Lbs 5 Oz and 21" bundle of joy. Congratulation there Old Man.

From Caryl Arsenault Class of 61
hi rick
just checked out the 62 yearbook. strange thing. i am looking for a rudy
smith (61). just located a rudy smith (62) listed on classmates. is it
possible the rudy i know , actually graduated in 62 even tho his pic is
in the 61 yearbook as a senior? another funny thing, the rudy i know,
was seen in the service with a different last name. when you click on
rudy smith at the classmates site, it says rudy jones-- "you knew me as
rudy smith in high school."
hmmm a mystery. any thoughts on this? the easiest explanation is the 62
is a typo and he meant to put in 61 , lol.
let me know

I love the site!!! Thank you for all your hard work. I have a new
email
address and would appreciate it if you could change it for me. The new one
is: djean1028@aol.com. You can drop
the Dorothy while you're there. I never
used that and no one would recognize it.
Thanks. Also, I noticed Jim Mobley's picture says Larry Mohler...
I look forward to more of our group finding the site and sending you updated
info!
Thanks, Jean Nash Lamb

great looking site. Had Tim Varian and Reed Canning, '61, here in Colorado springs a couple of weekends ago. A few adult beverages were consumed to say the
least. I have recently found all of my mother's Ktown keepsakes from my brother
and my years there...there a pictures galore, almost every copy of the school
newspaper, allot of stuff from the Ramstein base paper, pictures from all the big
dances, etc, etc. I will sort thru this stuff this winter and try to get you some
interesting material. Keep up the good work. Am on my way to South Bend for the
USAFA vs Notre Dame game this weekend. Going to get a little golf, partying and
watch the Falcons upset the Irish. Cheers, thanks for the site,Check 6, Ghost

You did a GREAT!!!!!! JOB!!!!! Wow, this is the first time
checking it out.
But you need to put a message on the ktown site about your address. I check
the ktown site everyday and cannot remember seeing your address. If you
did
put a message put another one. I am sure many others would love to check
out your site. I still have not found a job but once I do I'll call you
about that CD. Please say hi to your wife. We enjoyed meeting both of you.
And of course if the good Lord would give me a break we would like to make
the next reunion. Take care and again you did one outstanding job.
If only
our class had something setup like your website.
Your friends,
Don & Cynthia

I got a kick out of finding out the
yearbook for 62 was on the web. Moe Fleet-Hunt sent me the information.
How about a picture of the band and the majorettes for blowups? I always wanted
to be a pin-up! Jan Guthrie-Mundy

Is there some reason that the picture of Peggie Weatherall is
the same
as the picture of Pat Walters?
Loved the yearbook. I was surprised at the number of faces I actually
recognized - even though I wouldn't have been able to put a name to most
of them without help. Thanks for all your hard work!
I will start working on getting a current picture sent. I told Erma that
I would if she would - hehehehe.
I hope the reunion works. My hubby and I are already trying to come up
with ways to afford the trip. Good thing we have some time.
GO RAIDERS!

I'm impressed - indeed you did a lot of work on this. When I
feel like doing
this with the class of '55 yearbook, I just lie down till the feeling passes
away.Glad to see that the girls in '62 were ALMOST as gorjus as they were in
'55....How much server space does this site take - can you find that out (my ISP
doesn't provide that service)? I'm looking at it with Netscape 4.7 running under
MacOS 9.0. Guess I better try it with AOL's miserable browser too - that'll be
4.0 for Mac - works OK there too but the hit counter doesn't work. I can crank
up Internet Exploder 4.5 for Mac if you want. Your aerial photo of the school
almost reduced me to tears! OK if I put it on my Web site too? The picture
labeled "Bob Richmond" isn't me - I wasn't at the Florida reunion -
don't know who it is - as far as I know only one person from the 1950's was in
FL. Microsoft Front Page doesn't do umlauts and accented letters correctly, and
you need to enter the HTML for the umlaut-a in Kaempfer (AOL for Mac doesn't
support umlauts) by hand. The code for a lower case umlaut a is ampersand auml;
(if I type the ampersand in, AOL will do something dumb with it, so I wrote it
out. Some books on HTML tell you about what are called "character
entities" - include umlauts and accented letters and stuff.) Once again,
congratulations!

Thanks for being concerned. I'm fine. School has started again.
Our system
is so troubled and some of the kids so far behind that it's been an
overwhelming experience this year. Some of the kids have never passed a
grade. They were socially promoted from elementary school and now they
have
been moved to high school because they are 15. Our curriculum is all
college
prep with forced bussing.
We're supposed to be a magnet school of computing & technology but
assignments are done to ensure racial parity. Our lowest math class is
algebra. Many of my students are at 3rd or 4th grade in math; so I'm
counting my days as a high school math teacher. I'm planning an early
retirement and maybe teaching at one of the local colleges if I can finish my
masters in math. Today, a kid was arrested with a loaded gun at one of the
high schools in Dayton -- he brought the gun to school for protection. For
some strange reason, top administrators seem to think a good teacher can
force a kid to learn who comes from an environment in which education has no
value and adults are not supportive. Most of what I'm doing is encouraging
kids to stay out of trouble and trying to build self-esteem while I process
failing grades. On a more pleasant note, I spent 8 days on Martha's
Vineyard with June Parham-Pickett from the Class of '63. we had a
wonderful time. Martha's
Vineyard is so quiet and peaceful and the air so fresh and clean.
I'll look at the work you have done this weekend. I start class on
Saturday.
we're doing an Olympics Internet project in at school for the next two
weeks...See Ya, Erma
