Class News

Hi All !
We are looking forward to seeing you all over the July 4th Holiday!  Now, even though this is an INFORMAL, UNSTRUCTURED
K-Town reunion there are events that will take place on July 3rd, 4th and 5th !  Our schedule of events is included in this email.

For those of you who can join us, a block of 10 rooms has been put aside for us (we may be able to get more) at the Best Western - Country Inn in Morgan Hill. Their phone number is 408 779-0447. When you call to reserve your room ask for the "Morgan Hill Parade" block of rooms. The rooms will be held through June 15, and the since we’re a group the price is $91. There will also be a get together room available there for us.  ( But don't wait too long to get your room, cause the big "Wild Ones" reunion is that week too in Hollister and the rooms get snapped up in no time. The "Wild Ones" movie was made there with Marlon Brando and every year Harley riders come from everywhere to celebrate.)

Beginning on July 3rd:

6:00 p.m.      Local school children will be singing all of our favorite patriotic songs.  Included will be a good old fashioned "Why I'm Proud to Be An American" essay contest.

7:00 p.m.    A fantastic family style street dance with food, drink, live music and dancing !  It will be a great first night party for our mini reunion !

July 4th

8:00 a.m.    The 5K race walk (that is if anyone can rise and shine after all of the fun at the street dance the night before)

10:00 a.m.    The Official Santa Clara County Silicon Valley July 4th Parade.... with special guests from K-Town American High School, class of 1961, 62, and 63 !!!!

12:00 p.m.    A fun festival in the park is held right after the parade.  And once again, you'll find food, drink, live music and more good times with the K-Town crowd.

9:00 p.m.    A fantastic fireworks show with music and entertainment!

On July 5th:

On to Mission San Juan Bautista about 20 minutes from here for lunch a little sight seeing, shopping, more eating, and most important talking and getting to know each other all over again and catch up on the last 40 (can it be true) years!

For those of you who want to do a little sight-seeing while in California, Morgan Hill is only an hour from San Francisco, Carmel, Monterey, and Santa Cruz.  The Sonoma Wine Country (Morgan Hill and Gilroy also have several very nice wineries, and a couple of micro breweries too), Big Sur, Tahoe, and Yosemite are about a 3-5 drive.

1.  Please send me a updated picture of yourself, so all can recognize you, in case we bump into you on the street.  Really don't want to be shock on how old we are really getting to be.

2.  If you have any pictures of classes, clubs, parades, dances, graduation, sports events and would like to share with all.  I will be more than happy to scanned, either pictures, negatives or slides.  Don't worry if they have writing, faded, or scratch.  I can fix them up like new, about 96% of the time.  I will return them via snail mail.  (Please allow a few weeks to do the job.  You know how it is when you have to work for a living.)

Please send them to

Rick Hounshell

3.  Now I do have address, and telephone number on the picture that has a either e-mail or a place where the person is living at now.  I will not publish this list on the internet unless you give me permission to do so.

4.  Really need everyone's help in locating others.

5.  Don't forget the Alumni home page that Buzz has done at excellent job in creating.  Have lots of respect on what he can do with web page. Thanks Buzz for getting us all together.
