Muskogee Vocational Rehabilitation
Program:
Welcomes the Georgia State Rehabilitation Council
The Lower Muskogee Creek Tribe and the Muskogee Vocational
Rehabilitation Program were pleased to welcome the State Rehabilitation
Council May 9-10. Members of the Governor appointed
Council had the opportunity to hear the history of the Muskogee people as
well as participate in hands on activities including beading and pottery.
Entertainment was provided by The McCormicks.
Established in 1993 as mandated by the Rehabilitation
Act of 1973, as amended, the State Rehabilitation Council advises Rehabilitation
Services regarding performance in providing vocational rehabilitation services
to Georgians with disabilities. An annual report to the governor is prepared
and submitted each year regarding the activities, reviews, and advice provided
to the Vocational Rehabilitation Program by the SRC. The Council works
cooperatively with the Assistant Commissioner of Rehabilitation Services
to assure that services provided by the agency meet the needs of consumers
with disabilities.
