We have suffered the totally unexpected and tragic death of Emily's husband. Due to this unfortunate event, coupled with the fact that she and I were already struggling to keep this newsletter going, Carpe Laureate Diem will be going on a long, if not permanent, hiatus. For those of you who have sent in works for publication by snail-mail, when Emily gets her feet back on the ground, she has indicated that she will return any and all pieces to you. For those of you who sent submissions via email, please consider them as returned. There have been some problems with the email submissions, so if you haven't heard from me prior to this regarding your works, please also consider this as your notification thereof.
Please accept our sincere appreciation for all your interest in our publication. Without each of you, we would have had nothing on which our newsletter could grow and thrive. You are each greatly loved and our relationship with you will be sorely missed. For those of you who have experienced difficulties, we apologize. Nothing was ever intended to be handled incorrectly, and we have done the best we could hope for under extremely stressful circumstances. Your prayers and understanding will be greatly appreciated.
Respectfully and most sincerely yours,
Heidi Pehrson, electronic editor.
